Western Sales Manager

 

Our fast growing, raw pet food company is seeking a positive, outgoing, self-motivated, and detail oriented person to join our team as Western Sales Manager!  Our current Sales Manager has taken a new position in our company and we are looking for another talented person to fill his shoes.

                     

We are looking to add a key employee who wants to be invested in the company and people they work with and support the Rad Cat brand and culture.

 

Position Summary:  Effectively manage the continued growth of Rad Cat Raw Diet by supporting retail and distribution partners in the Western US, through positive relationships and detailed knowledge of Rad Cat products.

 

This is a large territory, covering the western half of the US (states west of TX): Twelve states and western Canada.

  

Job Description:

 

  • Develop and grow relationships with store management, sales associates, and distributors through in-person visits, phone conversations.
  • Regularly visit and phone prospective and existing customers for ongoing support and new sales contacts
  • Attend distributor quarterly sales meetings
  • Development, maintenance and execution of a territory target list and sales plan
  • Participate in trade-shows and conventions
  • Coordinate and attend retailer events
  • Resolve retailer concerns and requests in a timely manner
  • Maintain detailed notes on each call
  • Provide accurate expense reports and call sheets and submit them on time.
  • Conduct store seminars and trainings to improve associate’s awareness, knowledge and understanding of our products.
  • Analyse sales reports, recognize trends and adjust travel schedule and sales calls accordingly.
  • Create specials, promos and discount programs within set parameters and budgets.
  • Working closely with the owners to develop sales and marketing plans.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Love of animals and passion for nutrition is essential!
  • Pet industry experience a plus
  • 5 years sales experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, administrative and computer skills
  • Ability to manage travel arrangements, territory and responsibilities without close supervision
  • Proficient in using mobile devices, Microsoft Office and Powerpoint
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Travel within assigned territory.
  • Good communication and public speaking skills are a must.
  • Budget management experience preferred.
  • Ability and desire to travel often and work some weekend days
